A recreation, sports and leisure area is planned for residents in the Tarande district of Vilnius, at Bendorių and Raisteniškės Streets. A meeting with residents on the public space will take place on 23 October at 6 pm.
The design proposals for the public space are available until the meeting . The meeting will be held remotely, the link is here. Proposals can also be submitted by email to enrika.gestautaite@idvilnius.lt until 22 October at 17:00. The design proposals are being presented to the public for the second time, as the solutions have been modified: paths are being redesigned, plazas are being relocated. The project is therefore being presented to the public once again. At present, the 55-acre area between Bendoriai and Raisteniškės is unsuitable for recreation, lacking recreation and play areas, and the trees and shrubs are in need of trimming. This project foresees the construction of pedestrian paths that will be connected to the existing streets and the creation of separate areas for recreation, children’s play and sports. As the site is on a slope, stairs and ramps will be built to improve accessibility and to accommodate people with disabilities and parents with pushchairs. The area will be equipped with playgrounds and sports fields. The project aims to preserve the natural landscape. The existing area is covered with conifers: pine and spruce. The plan is to preserve these trees and to plant new ones in line with the existing vegetation (pointed cherry trees, birch trees, etc.). The project aims to create a harmonious environment dominated by both ornamental shrubs and trees, which will provide shade for the recreation and play areas. The design proposals have been prepared by ID Vilnius UAB. After taking into account the residents’ comments and the approval of the design proposals by the specialists, a technical design of the public space will be prepared. Once the building permit has been obtained, the renovation works will be prepared.
