How would you describe the wooden Šnipiškės? What images, sounds, colours or materials come to mind? What is the spirit of place of wooden Šnipiškės? ID Vilnius, together with the Vilnius City Municipality, invites the inhabitants of Wooden Šnipiškės to explore and discover the spirit of place of this unique territory (Latin: genius loci – the subjective feeling of a special atmosphere of a particular place). Monday, 29 January 2024, 18:00 A presentation and discussion of the year-long programme for the study of the spirit of place of wooden Šnipiškės will take place in the 20th floor hall of Vilnius City Hall. Registration: https://forms.office.com/e/xH8G9Hubxu The year-long programme for the inhabitants of Wooden Šnipiškės will include: various meetings and workshops; collaboration with anthropologists and artists; workshops on the restoration of cultural heritage objects and other activities. During the first meeting, residents will be invited to discuss the programme, submit their proposals and expectations. About the project . The project aims: – to describe the local spirit of the wooden Šnipiškės; – to increase the mobilisation of the local population; – to enable owners of immovable objects of cultural heritage to benefit from the financial instruments of the Vilnius Heritage Management Programme.
