One of the options for the transformation of Lviv Street
9 May, 6 pm. “ID Vilnius invites residents, local entrepreneurs and all those interested in the changes in Šnipiškės to a presentation of the vision for the changes in Lvivas and Krokuvos streets. During the meeting, ID Vilnius will present the pre-project proposals for the streets, and the participants will be able to ask questions and provide their comments on the guidelines for the streets’ development.
The meeting will take place on the 20th floor of Vilnius City Hall (Konstitucijos pr. 3). During the meeting, experts will present the prospects for the development of the area, the visions for Lviv and Krakow Streets and the prospects for sustainable mobility (including public transport) in the area. The presentation will be followed by a discussion at thematic tables, where participants will be able to ask questions and express their views on the design principles being developed for Lviv and Krakow Streets and the public spaces adjacent to these streets.

The street vision diagrams will be published on the ID Vilnius and Vilnius Municipality websites on 7 May (Tuesday). Once registered, the street schemes will be sent to the email address indicated in the registration form.
The aim of the pre-design proposals for streets is to provide guidance for future projects for the repair and renovation of Lviv and Krakow streets and the green spaces associated with the streets.
Šnipiškės is one of the fastest changing areas in Vilnius. The fastest development is taking place along Konstitucijos, Lvivas and Krokuvos Streets. This part of Šnipiškės is also known as the central business district (CBD) of Vilnius. Jobs and population growth are already expected in the central business district of Vilnius in the coming years. At the same time, new functions will be created and new attractions will emerge, such as restaurants, cafés and various services. In this context of development, a unified and harmonious relationship between buildings, streets, mobility and greenery is essential.
In 2022, Vilnius Municipality started to strategically develop a vision for the transformation of Šnipiškės’ public spaces and the streets connecting the southern part of Šnipiškės. It must meet the high quality criteria of a modern city – the Vilnius City Street Standard and the 10 architectural rules.
In 2022, when the visioning process for the transformation of Lviv and Krakow streets began, it started with a survey of the needs of local residents and a lively meeting to discuss possible scenarios for street transformation. A live survey of passers-by on Lviv and Krakow Streets and an online survey of residents took place. In this document you can read the results of both surveys.
